 motivate kids

Stimulation includes the use of techniques and situations that are appropriate and indispensable to the child in the first months of life to ensure a normal development as possible.

Motivation does not mean forcing the child, but rather it means accompanying him and developing his maximum potential. Making a child grow gives parents joy and confidence. Stimulation is necessary for development, a basic human need for harmonious growth and development because through this practice the child develops his genetic potential and reaches physical, mental, and social maturity.

From the age of 3 months onwards, parents may notice some signs that their children’s development is not progressing as expected at each stage.

Some things parents should note:

Movement coordination.

Receptive language (if the child understands what the other is saying).

Expressive language (if the child shows some sounds in order to communicate);

Interaction with living people (parents, siblings, other children):

Desire and search for adults.

Difficulty playing „Faith“.

Excessive irritability or apathy.

With a view to the development of the child in general, stimulation should include the use of measures, attitudes and techniques aimed at different areas. It divides the individual’s manifestations of behavior into four areas:

motor behavior:

The ability to perform movements such as balance, sitting, standing and walking.

adaptive behavior:

adaptation of the child to the proposed objects and tasks;

Linguistic behavior:

Includes every form of visual communication;

 Personal and social behavior:

 Includes reaction to others and to cultural stimuli.

For each of these areas and in different age groups, the author indicates the goals that must be achieved with motivation and the actions that must be taken to achieve them. Well-executed care requires the presence of a responsible person with the child.

Is it possible to stimulate at home?

It is possible, but not the most appropriate. It is important that the family and the teamwork together to achieve better results. Stimulation at this stage is carried out mainly with games and makes the child learn better about himself, the world around him, the space in which he lives, both at school and at home.

The first stage – from 0 to 3 months:

This stage is considered one of the most important, as it is from this contact with the parents that the child matures, his most important social-emotional aspect at this stage is the contact with the father and mother. In the first month, it’s more of foreplay than a joke. A child needs connection and affection. The advice is to talk a lot. When bathing and changing diapers, for example, parents can tell the child what to do: “Let’s wash your hand”, “Look at the little foot”, “Let’s change clothes”, “We take a shower”. Also, tips for this stage are singing the baby to sleep and massaging your hands.

The second stage – from 3 to 6 months:

Relationships with the outside world are stronger. The child is already sitting with support, turns his head when he hears noises, tries to balance himself, orients himself in space. During this period, the child begins to understand the body as his own, which is why he plays with it.

The third stage – from 6 to 12 months:

It is the stage in which the child finds his motor independence. He wants to take everything, he already takes toys, climbs, and sings. During this period the child becomes aware of himself and others. The mother is no longer a part of the child. At this moment, the affection and understanding of those around the child are very important, since it is at this moment that the child touches everything. It is important to provide fun and healthy activities.
